As an undergraduate in Biomedical Engineering with a research focus on skeletal stem cells, mechanobiology, and tissue engineering, I am eager to join the HK Laureate Forum to engage with pioneers in science and collaborate with peers who share my passion for regenerative medicine. My work explores how mechanical cues influence skeletal stem cell differentiation—a key question for developing advanced therapies for bone repair.
This forum represents a unique opportunity to learn from laureates’ breakthroughs, discuss cutting-edge approaches in biomechanics and tissue engineering, and gain insights into translating research into clinical solutions. I am particularly excited to explore how interdisciplinary innovation can address challenges in skeletal regeneration.
Beyond knowledge exchange, I hope to build lasting connections with researchers and contribute my perspective as an emerging scientist. The forum’s emphasis on mentorship and collaboration aligns perfectly with my goal of advancing personalized, mechano-informed therapies. Abstract of Research / Brief Description of Your Current Research Interest (max. 200 words)

The meniscus plays a crucial role in knee joint stability and load distribution, yet its limited vascularization significantly hinders its healing capacity after injury. My research interest focuses on understanding meniscus vascularization following a defect. While the outer one-third of the meniscus has some blood supply, the inner two-thirds remain avascular, leading to poor healing outcomes. Investigating how the meniscus responds to injury at the cellular and tissue levels could provide insights into novel therapeutic approaches, improving repair techniques and long-term joint function. This research is critical for developing effective treatments to mitigate osteoarthritis progression and enhance patient recovery after meniscal injury.
